Pinewood Derby

On Sunday morning, February 25, we will hold the annual Pinewood Derby in the John Baldwin MPR.

The Pinewood Derby race is one of Cub Scouts’ signature events.  Boys make cars from approved kits, and race them.  Cars are recognized for being fastest, coolest-looking, funniest, etc.

There will be three racing times, each lasting less than an hour:

• 9:00 am – Webelos and Wolves
• 10:00 am – Tigers
• 11:00 am – Bears

Please plan on arriving a half hour early.

The maximum weight of the car is 5 ounces, and you’re not allowed to touch the axles or the wheels.  Remember that the emphasis should be on the scout’s efforts in making the car.

Scouts may wear either their Class A or Class B uniform – their choice.
