Pinewood Derby, Sunday Feb. 10, 2019

On Sunday morning, February 10, we will hold the annual Pinewood Derby in the John Baldwin MPR.

The Pinewood Derby race is one of Cub Scouts’ signature events.  Boys make cars from approved kits, and race them.  Cars are recognized for being fastest, coolest-looking, funniest, etc.

There will be four racing times, each lasting less than an hour:

  • 9:00 am – Tigers and Wolves
  • 10:00 am – Bears
  • 11:00 am – Webelos
  • 12:00 pm – Open division (brothers, sisters, adults)

Please plan on arriving a half hour early.

The maximum weight of the car is 5 ounces, and you’re not allowed to touch the axles or the wheels.  Remember that the emphasis should be on the scout’s efforts in making the car.

Please email your den leader or Mr. McClure to let us know that you or your scout are participating.  Makes it much easier on the day of the race.

Scouts may wear either their Class A or Class B uniform – their choice.

See you there!
